OA East is committed to serving the community by widening access to archaeology and encouraging the involvement of community groups in the archaeology of their surroundings.

Community Archaeology projects allow local communities to become directly involved in the preservation, investigation and promotion of their local heritage and we work with various partners to achieve this.

We have also been involved with a number of partnership projects with local community groups supported by the Local Heritage Initiative grant scheme.

OA East staff work closely with the Institute of Continuing Education at Madingley Hall, Cambridge University. Our highly qualified and experienced staff are often available to give evening lectures and talks on the archaeology of Cambridgeshire.

Check back soon for information about forthcoming Community Archaeology projects during 2010.

If you have any projects you wish to develop, would like to become involved in an on-going project or would like to organise a talk please contact the Outreach & Learning Officer.
